Join the Paratransit service at Hampton Roads Transit ( HRT )!
River North Transit LLC ( Via ) uses app-based technology to make public transit more efficient. We operate the HRT Paratransit service to serve eligible disabled passengers in the Hampton Roads region and we are working with our employer of record, HireArt, to find amazing new drivers to join this service!
What is HRT Paratransit?
HRT Paratransit provides eligible riders with disabilities access to public transportation services that complement HRT s fixed-route bus system. The HRT Paratransit service operates at the same hours as the fixed-route bus system, from approximately 4am to 2am daily.
Riders are eligible for the HRT Paratransit service if they are unable to use fixed-route transportation due to a disability. HRT Paratransit is a shared-ride service which provides origin-to-destination transportation for riders. Drivers assist riders in boarding and exiting vehicles, and in the event that a particular rider s disability or adverse weather conditions prevent that rider from negotiating the distance between the curb and the door of their origin/destination, drivers must also assist the rider in traveling that distance.
